"Special needs” garments are to protect animals from licking their incisions after abdominal surgery, to cover amputation sites, to prevent spraying in the home and to contain sanitary pads where incontinence is a problem. Having worked part-time for a veterinarian, Carla discovered that cats who are shaved down due to surgical procedure or to coat matting are comforted by a shirt (being chilly is a strange sensation), as are breeds with little to virtually no coat.
